                  Montague Foods Arts Scholarship
                                           and
            Amber Rose Brown Memorial Scholarship

Download application and complete guidelines here.

The Nuveen Community Center for the Arts announces the return of the Montague
Foods Arts Scholarship for the third year running. A second scholarship
competition—the Amber Rose Brown Memorial Scholarship—will be held in
conjunction with the Montague Foods competition, resulting in $2250 scholarship
dollars that will be awarded to local teens.

Both competitions are open to any high school junior or senior residing in the
Whitehall or Montague school districts. Students must submit an original piece of
artwork along with a completed scholarship application by 5:00 p.m., March 16,
2012 to be eligible. Artwork will be on display at Montague Foods from March 21–
May 7, 2012, during which time members of the public may vote for their favorite.
These votes will be the deciding factor in which students take home the Montague
Foods Arts Scholarships of $1000, $500, and $250.

A panel of judges will decide the winner of the Amber Rose Brown Memorial
Scholarship, a $500 college scholarship established this year by Deanna Cullen and
Larry Brown, parents of the late Amber Brown of Montague. The winning piece will
emphasize creativity and personal expression, two qualities embodied in Brown’s
award-winning artwork before she passed away in 2008 at the age of 20.

Each piece of artwork entered is eligible for both scholarships. Download
application and complete guidelines here. For more information, call the Nuveen
Center at 231-894-2787.
