Matisse to Picasso: Acrylic Painting on Canvas Boards with Missy Morrow
This class will help you develop and refine skills, as well as familiarize you with the tools and
techniques necessary to create your own series of small paintings on canvas board. Even
experienced painters will pick up new ideas and techniques—use these prolific artists as
inspiration! Bonus: Paintings can be scanned to serve as your very own prints for greeting cards!
August 13, 20 and 27 6:30—8:30 p.m.

New Ways with Watercolors with Pat Miller
Learn to use watercolors in new and exciting ways! This class will cover pouring and masking,
using yupo and hot press papers, and finally pouring paint adding artist papers, with cheese cloth
and/or webbing. Leave the class with a new appreciation for watercolors! Materials can be
provided if you need them.

Aluminum Can Hats and Bags! with Cara O’Brien
Turn your favorite canned beverage into wearable art! Use yarn to crochet your cans into a festive
hat or bag, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Please bring 5-7 clean cans, a skein of your
favorite yarn, work gloves, and crochet hooks if you have them!
August 12 and 13 Time: 5:30—7:00 p.m.
Fee: $18 Materials: $7 Total: $25
Needle Felting with Beth Pierson and Kathy Rogers
Come learn the art of needle felting! Using special barbed needles and wool roving, you will create a
beautiful embellished piece that can be used as a coaster, small wall art, or whatever your
imagination decides it should be. We will provide all materials or you may bring a piece of felted
wool clothing (jacket, clogs, etc) or densely woven fabric (ex. jeans) that you would like to
embellish. You will leave the class with the skill set to do this on your own without further
instruction

Open Studio Night Facilitator: Scott Mack
This night of drawing and painting is for both budding and experienced artists. Scott Mack, an
accomplished landscape and figure painter, will guide discussion and work on technique. Bring
your own work and ideas!
June 17, July 15, and August 19 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. No Fee
Tai-Chi
Instructor Dr. John Ruberto - Grand Master Soke, 8th Degree
No pre-registration required. This class is open to all levels, beginners to advance. By using yoga
like movements and meditation, participants will work on fostering a calm and tranquil mind
through balance, alignment and rhythm of movement.
Every Wednesday Time: 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Fee: $40 per month
String Jam Band—for Junior High and High School Students
with Andy Urquhart and Lyndon Mair
Help us form a youth band for the White Lake Area, based around strings and percussion. Band
Members will learn the basics of guitar, mandolin, bass, fiddle and drums, and specialize in one
instrument en route to a public performance. Make great friends while making music! Instruments
can be provided, but please bring your own if you have one available!
