Photography Series with Elizabeth Reynders
Basic Digital Photography:
Learn digital information such as files, camera settings,
and all those confusing options in your camera menu. Content guided by
participants.
Digital Photography II: Beyond the “Auto” Setting: Take your photography to the
next level!  Learn to take better landscapes, portraits, close-ups, action, and much
more. We’ll cover photographic terms and their uses.  
Digital Photography III: Let’s get shooting!  Get some practice with your camera!  We’
ll do some actual shooting in class and outside.  See what you can do with depth of
field, action, and portraits now that we’ve covered the basic info.  (Previous two
classes recommended, or a VERY good understanding of your own camera).  
Fee: $15 per class, two classes for $27, all three for $40
Mon., July 12 – 26, 6-8 p.m.  To all photo classes, please bring camera, book, disc
media, batteries, and questions.  

Polymer Clay Workshop with Vicky Odell
This intro class will give you the skills to work with oven-dry clay using tools you
already have in your home.  We will cover simple canework, with plenty of
individual instruction to guide you on your desired path.  Two sessions – choose one,
or take both!  Sat., July 17, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  and Sat., Aug. 21, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fee:
$25 Materials: $10

Create your own Book with Barb Gremchuk
Interest in a “peek a boo” book or a little book with pages that pop-up?  Once you
learn the basics, you can create these interesting books to illustrate your own
writings or illustrations, for gifts, as a journal, or just amusement. Sat., July 24, 10 a.
m. – 2 p.m.  Cost: $25  Materials: $8

Three Dimensional Geese with Sarah Jane Fellini  Ages 10+
Use paper mache, coat hangers, and feathers to create a goose with moveable wings.  
This trendy art project looks great as a hanging decoration.  Mon. – Wed., July 19 –
21.  10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Fee: $30        Materials: $2

Exploring Drawing with Linda Busse
Hone your observation skills and improve your drawing using the “right side of your
brain.”  Learn techniques that will improve your observation and drawing skills.  
Come prepared to do drawing both inside class and at home.  Wednesdays, July 21 –
August 11    6 – 8 p.m.

Copper Wire Jewelry I and II with Corene Kufta
The first class uses simple tools, wire and beads to create beautiful pins, earrings,
pendants & bracelets.  In the second class, continue to build skills in crafting
beautiful wire jewelry.  Learn to use weaving along with wire bending, damping, and
beads to create a “bird’s nest” pendant.  Please bring round and needle nose pliers,
flush wire cutters, as well as 3 or more beads–we provide seed beads. I:  Sat., July 31,

Acrylics with Missy Morrow
This class will help you develop and refine skills, as well as familiarize you with the
tools and techniques necessary to create your own series of small paintings on canvas
board.  Even experienced painters will pick up new ideas and techniques.  Please
bring photographs to work from.  
Mon., Aug. 2-16, 6-8 p.m.  Fee: $40        Materials: $8

Controlling Watercolors with Pat Miller
These paint-along sessions will help you learn watercolor techniques.  You’ll use
flowing colors into clean water to make a painting of a flower, all the while learning
to control your paints.  Materials provided, or bring your own.  Thurs., Aug. 5 & 12, 6-
8 p.m.  Class Fee: $25  Materials: $5

PURE COLOR with Vianna Szabo        
Have you ever been frustrated because…You can’t mix the color you want, The
colors look chalky, or color combinations look muddy or harsh?  In this workshop
you will learn a simple method of identifying and mixing color.  This is a method
that applies to all mediums as well as subject matter and ends the mystery of color
mixing for painters. Learn how to control your palette, discover your personal color
sense, and create art that is filled with light and harmony.   Students will work from
still life set ups and class size will be limited to twelve so that students will not be
crowded.  The workshop will consist of demonstrations, discussion, handouts and
personal critique with the instructor.  A materials list provided with registration.
Itinerary: 9:00-12:00 -  Demo and lecture, Students do thumbnail sketches, as well as
choose and mix colors on their palette  12.30-1:00 lunch- Please bring your own   
1:00- 4:00 - Students work.  Saturday, August 7. Fee: $95

Clay Beads and Jewelry Making with Cara O’Brien        
Use a variety of hand building techniques to create porcelain jewelry components in
the first class, glaze your work in the second and then finish with sterling silver wire
and findings.  Come away with two or more pairs of earrings, a pendant necklace,
and a few pins. Tuesdays, August 17-31, 7-8:30 p.m.  Fee: $25  Materials: $15  

Painting Landscapes with Howard Garet
This workshop will demonstrate how to start your painting using photos and
thumbnail sketches.  Learn how to capture light of day and create the illusion of
space and dimension through value and temperature.  Work on seeing the various
colors in nature that photos don't capture.  There will be demonstrations on
composition and technique, and ongoing informal critiques.  Open to all levels.  
Tuesday, August 17-31, 6-9 p.m.  Call for materials list.  Fee: $70

Continuing Watercolors with Pat Miller
Use the watercolor techniques you’ve discovered in the controlling watercolor class,
or other past watercolor class experiences, to discover ways to use color and water in
your paintings.  Materials can be provided, or bring your own.  Thurs., Aug. 19 & 26,
6-8 p.m. Fee: $38 Materials: $8

Canvas Art Collage with Carolyn Bone        Ages 10+
Learn how to create one-of-a-kind piece of art on canvas, ready for framing and
display!  Start with acrylic paint and add photographs, magazine clippings, fabric,
or other favorite items to provide inspiration and incorporate into your final piece
(please bring these items).  Thurs., August 19, 5:30-7 p.m.    Fee: $8   Materials: $5
